Essential AV Technology for Schools and Universities
More than ever, schools and universities are striving to provide their students and teaching staff with the latest AV technology. Classroom recording systems are the ideal way to give students the opportunity to absorb information in a way that best suits them.
The product we are most interested in now is the Lectopia system (now known as Echo360).
Originally developed by the University of WA, Lectopia makes audio and visual material from lectures and lessons making them available for streaming, download and podcast. In this way students and teachers are essentially able to rewind, relive and reconnect with the classroom experience

Video: Screen Capture in Sync with Audio This example shows the presenter's computer screen being captured and presented in sync with the audio of the presentation. A real positive is that no software is required to be installed on the presenter's computer for this capture to take place.

This example is a 5 minute recording of a Statistics unit. The lecture was presented by Dr Kathleen Chindarsi from the UWA School of Mathematics and Statistics. It shows how students can review complex concepts covered in lectures, including reviewing the use of statistical methods to solve problems |
