Run for cancer research

All of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another, either personally or to someone close to us. Can Too are a not-for-profit organisation that matches fitness incentives with a cause. Can Too raise money for cancer research through a number of different sporting events including marathons, runs and ocean swims. One of our staff, Michael Di Ciero, will be running the half marathon with the Can Too group in October this year.
To date the furthest that Michael has ever run is 14km, so 21km is certainly going to be a challenge! Over the 14 weeks that Michael is training for the half marathon he estimates that he will run in excess of 240km. It involves a lot of early mornings, even on weekends, and dedication. But the largest sacrifice so far has been Michael’s dignity –he has been convinced to wear skins!
Michael is starting to feel the affects of all of the training to date, but is continuing to push himself. Knowing that not only with completing the run be personally rewarding but it will also help to bring us one step closer to finding a cure for cancer.
