Sonos Introduces ZonePlayer S5, Controlled By Your iPhone

Affordable and Convenient Music System

Last week, Sonos, the leading developer of wireless multi-room music systems, unveiled the ZonePlayer S5, the first product in its streaming-audio family to boast built-in speakers. We have been fans of the Sonos since its launch a few years back, and we are equally excited about this latest addition. A ‘big plus' of the new system is its affordability, making the Sonos experience more accessible than ever before.

All in one music system
Packaged as a stylish single unit, the S5 can be moved to any room or outdoors where there is power. So a small home or office may opt for a single unit, while larger building's may choose multiple units which can play the same song in every room or different songs in different rooms.

Multiple music sources

With the Internet connected, you can listen to way more music than you can with a dock that only plays the songs that fit on your iPod. The S5 gives you instant access to a world of music, including Internet radio stations, shows and podcasts -all free of charge and pre-loaded on Sonos.

Sonos works seamlessly with the most popular music services including Rhapsody to provide computer-free access to millions of songs and stations.
You have instant access to your iTunes library stored on any computer or network-attached storage.

Finally, the S5's analog audio input lets you connect to an external audio source (such as an iPod, CD player, TV, DVD, VCR, or radio) and play music or audio on all ZonePlayers in the system.

Control options

Control of your S5 is a breeze. You can purchase the Sonos CR200 controller or if you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, simply download the latest version of the free Sonos controller app and you are in business.

Outstanding audio quality

The ZonePlayer S5 has twin tweeters, twin mids and a 3.5-inch subwoofer, providing crystal clear, room-filling sound. It gives us the same Sonos experience we've come to expect - a flawless, dropout-free digital music experience. It handles a cranking volume that would shake apart your average iPod speaker, without exhibiting distortion or harshness.

What you need

To set up the system, you simply need power and a wireless network and your choice of controller.

"The new S5 is our latest effort to simplify the Sonos experience so more people can enjoy more music than ever before" says John MacFarlane, CEO of Sonos.
