All the best Universities recognise the importance of having their lecture theatres operate to the highest standards. To ensure they give their students the best experience, Melbourne’s Deakin University decided to overhaul their busiest and largest lecture theatre. The Rusden Theatre (LT13) project would ensure the whole theatre met the Universities latest technical AV solutions standards.

InSight Systems has worked closely with Deakin University, providing their most complex and critical AV solutions for several years. As Victoria’s leading audio visual consultant and AV integrator, InSight’s strong people-focused relationship and expert projects team were Deakin’s logical choice to provide the personal and technical AV solutions for this project.

Expert AV solutions

Working collaboratively, the AV installation specialists reviewed the unique requirements of the site and considered several options. The audio-visual solutions were then designed and documented. The front wall of the lecture theatre required additional building works that allowed the projected image to display at a size that the Deakin standards for site line and images required. The solution required a new bulkhead wall, relocation of lighting fixtures, repainting and more …. all completed by the InSight projects team.

With the new school semester just around the corner, the InSight Systems team worked in a limited timeframe through the University school holidays to complete the AV integration on time.

Results

The new Deakin Rusden Lecture Theatre is better than ever. Teachers now have a new improved presentation space, high quality audio system, intuitive control interface, automated camera system, programmable lighting and flexible connectivity, improving their ability to easily use the system and communicate to students.
