AV Installation for Medical Facility

Our brief from Manningham Day Procedure Centre was to upgrade their existing audio-visual set up, as well as to expand its capabilities. They needed to integrate the existing AV system in their operating theatres with their newly equipped staff tearoom, and the Medical Center’s boardroom.

We installed a wall mounted, commercial grade NEC plasma in their tearoom which can show TV footage for entertainment purposes, and can also be used for presentations by simply plugging it into a laptop. More impressively, through an AMX Control System, it has the ability to display images and audio from the ceiling-mounted video cameras, or the endoscopic cameras in the 2 theatres, thereby allowing staff to view live procedures. In an environment where confidentiality is paramount, InSight has ensured that access to the AMX Control System, is strictly password protected.

We installed another AMX Control System and programmed it to have the same ability to stream the live feeds from the operating theatres, on Level 3, onto a projector screen in the Boardroom of the Manningham Medical Centre which is located on Level 6. The Control System was then programmed to allow you to select whether you view the images from the ceiling-mounted cameras or from the medical camera. The AV installation also boasts a Picture-in-Picture feature allowing the surgeons view to be displayed simultaneously with the theatre view and accompanying audio.

This capability in the boardroom has opened up a whole new world of possibility to showcase the center’s facilities, during medical conferences and presentations.

Following on from this, InSight Systems had the opportunity to upgrade the existing equipment in the boardroom in order to maximize the features of the new AV integration. This included the installation of a new Hitachi projector that ensured brighter, clearer images, a high quality audio system including wireless microphones, as well as new amplifiers and speakers. Even for stand alone presentations this means better meeting room facilities.
