MONIVAE COLLEGE

Monivae College recently had a purpose built building constructed to house two new interactive classrooms. These classrooms can operate independently or can be opened up and configured into one large room.

Monivae College wished to install the first classroom streaming and recording solution in the Catholic Education Sector. Monivae College required an audio visual system that would allow teachers and students to stream and record classroom sessions. This system required the ability to record classroom content and teacher/student interactions and whilst also allowing students to download or stream podcasts at the completion of the class.
Once given the design brief, the InSight Systems design team got to work designing a new system from the ground up. The combination of Vaddio PTZ cameras and camera control processors allow teachers to remotely move and control the cameras to capture interactions amongst students. The end result is a polished video recording of classes showing a range of interactions. This allows students to learn both in the traditional manner from the teacher, but also from other students. This has resulted in Monivae College students having distinct advantage over other students in the local area.
The podcasts are stored locally on an Apple Mac Mini Server, this allows teachers to edit video natively and then easily post completed videos to the schools website. By simplifying the technology and by utilising products that are supported by the school and actively used by students, Monivae College has seen a rapid uptake in the usage of these podcasts.
The following products were included in the installation:
- Crestron Control solutions including 4.3” Touch panel within the BIO Box
- Biamp Audio DSP
- Vaddio PTZ cameras and camera control processor
- PACOM EVO2-650 static cameras
- Quest 6” ceiling speakers
