AV Solution for Church

Our long-term client One Community Church, were looking for a premium Audio Visual system for their new Melbourne premises including audio, video and lighting. The solution was to include their 500-seat auditorium, reception, break-out areas, kids ministry area, cafe and office systems.

The Auditorium

The goal for the main auditorium was to create a dynamic church environment, catering for live music, theatre, speech and contemporary worship services. The auditorium would also be available for hire as a corporate presentation facility.

The tilted slab construction presents some awkward acoustic anomalies which had to be addressed in the system design. AV Integration Consultant, Jordan Mitchell developed a total solution drawing on his experience with churches, performing arts centres and corporate installations.

Control of the sound and the selection of audio equipment was crucial, as the Church backs onto a residential area. Jordan recommended premium brand d&b audiotechnik as the foundation of the audio solution. In fact, One Community Church was the first church in Australia to install this superior audio product range.

An NEC super-bright 6000ANSI lumen projector was installed to produce vibrant, clear images and a range of Shure microphone options were provided to cater for the various speech and music requirements. JANDS and Selecon lighting equipment was chosen to provide stage lighting and the entire system was brought together with an intuitively programmed AMX control system, installed in the control desk at the rear of the auditorium.

In keeping with Anti-Discrimination legislation and the Building Code, One Community Church also integrated an assistive hearing system, in the form of an Induction Loop. This allows the hearing impaired to optimize sound in the venue using their own hearing aids.

Reception Area

A 50-inch Plasma was installed in the reception area, used for digital signage and to display both video and presentation material.
Break Out and Kids Areas

A range of other Audio Visual systems and equipment were implemented throughout the rest of the venue including NEC projectors, plasma screens, audio systems, CD and DVD Players.

Roger Bently from OCC managed the project on behalf of the church:
“We’ve been very pleased with the work provided by Dr Audio and their attention to details has, and always will be, superb. As for the sound system, Tim Keating and Joe Tular who train our operators have told me their job is made easy, the PA gives such faithful and true reproduction.”
