PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS

As technology has quickly advanced over recent years the PricewaterhouseCoopers ballroom, located at the head office in Melbourne, has had a number of ad hoc upgrades. These upgrades resulted in a system that became increasingly less user-friendly and as a result the room started to become under utilised.

InSight Systems were asked to design and implement a new system that allowed PricewaterhouseCoopers to better use this multi-purpose room.

The ballroom was to be used as one large room, with the ability to split into three smaller rooms. The InSight Systems design team put together a solution that gave each of these smaller spaces; full video conferencing, audio and visual capabilities whilst also expanding into a full functioning ballroom or function hall.

As the room was located in the PricewaterhouseCoopers head office a very high quality finish was required. This included motorised microphones and products from Bi Amp, NEC, Polycom and Lab Groupin.

As the installation was within an existing building the design team had a number of immovable structural features to work around. One of the key problems that had to be overcome was the previous installation of non-standard floor-boxes. To overcome this problem the design team had custom floor boxes made.  (see an article on the custom services that InSight Systems offers here)

Due to the thorough planning of the design team and the expertise of the installation team the project was completed on-time and on-budget. But most importantly PricewaterhouseCoopers were not only impressed with the quality of work, but are now fully utilising this function room.
