University Audio Visual Installation – No time for learning!

Working with Victoria University, InSight Systems provided the audio visual installation capabilities required at their new IPEP facility. The project involved installing new integrated Audio Visual systems in 33 rooms of the medical teaching facility and also within the two central communications rooms racks. The new equipment within the 33 spaces included Cisco Video Conferencing, AMX touch screen control systems, HD Crestron Capture systems and also local source connection and switching for in room presentations. A detailed system design was completed and tested by our own in house AV consultants which assisted with new innovative control improvements.

As this was a brand new building project a staged implementation including pre wiring, equipment installation and commissioning was created. This became an impressive element of the overall project.

A ‘pilot’ or ‘sandpit’ stage was created with an example of each of the three main room types being installed, tested and work shopped with VU and other stake holders. This process assisted with the refinement of the control system operation and provided improved outcomes for the users of this complex system.  An additional benefit was the ease of rolling out the installation across the remaining rooms.
