Tyrian Serviced Apartments
Partnering with our long-term client, Firepro, we designed and installed a complete data, phone and Audio Visual solution at Melbourne’s new and exclusive Tyrian Serviced Apartments.
Located in the heart of the trendy Fitzroy and Brunswick St districts, Tyrian provide high-end luxury accommodation and required a total communications solution to match.
The 37 apartments were each to be fitted out with a number of LCD screens, DVD Player, Foxtel and Free to Air TV, while the entire building required infrastructure for their internet, phone and wireless networks.
Our client wanted to provide High Definition Foxtel and Free to Air TV, which for a commercial environment, required an innovative solution.
Angelo Marasco and Daniel Baldwin worked with suppliers Foxtel and Combitel to develop a system using IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) over CAT6. IPTV is a new delivery framework for both broadcast and interactive television services. For this project IPTV was chosen for its ability to allow all 37 apartments to display multiple channels of Foxtel and TV in high definition. The CAT 6 cabling infrastructure means the system is future proofed, allowing for the expansion of channels and services, without the need for additional cabling.
As part of the scope, cable infrastructure run through the building also delivers high speed internet, VOIP telephony and provides wireless connectivity for both data and voice services
Working with Mark Grant from Firepro team, Brad Geyer managed the project, directing his installation team through the backbone cabling stage through to the installation of the audio visual equipment. Both pre-installation and as-built documentation were provided to the client.

The client has plans for a further 4 luxury serviced apartment buildings, incluidng a 144 aprtment – site in the outer suburbs of Melbourne. The system has been designed to allow for communication and managed service provision between all currnet and future sites.
